Fine Art Stamp and Handmade Background with Lost Coast Designs

Hello Everyone,
Super busy here with all those things were call, "Life".  Taking a few moments to post a card made with a art/collage type stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  I made a background with spray inks and stamped with Distress inks.  Have a look.

Materials List:
Stamps: Patricia Collage from Lost Coast Designs
Ink: Peacock Feathers and Bundled Sage Distress ink
Spray inks
Stencil
CS: white, aqua, and dark aqua
Wide Satin Aqua Ribbon
Peacock Blue Tulle
Small Pearls

Make It:

  • Make a base card from Aqua CS
  • On white CS, use stencils and spray ink to create background paper--I spray the stencil and then turn it over and spray again to get the diffused look.  Cut a piece to size
  • Stamp Patricia Collage with Bundled Sage on the outside edges of the stamp and Peacock Feathers on the inside area
  • Stamp on White CS
  • Add a layer of dark CS and add to card
  • Wrap tulle around card
  • Tie ribbon in knot and wrap around card
  • Add small pearls

I just love these fine art inspired stamps.  They are so dramatic and make such a nice project. Of course, I love it paired with my favorite color - aqua.  Thanks for dropping in today.  I hope you have a super day.

Hello Everyone!

Now, on to my Girly Road Trip card with a handmade background paper.

Materials List:
Stamps: Chick Car and Road Trip ( sentiment set of 6) both  from Technique Junkies
Ink:Black
CS: White and pink
Velum
Memento Fireworks Lilac Posies spray ink
Pink Ribbon
Cotton Twill Ribbon

Make It:

  • Make a card base from pink CS
  • Stamp Chick Car on Velum - let ink dry and cut to size
  • Make the background - This background was one of those "oops" moments that turned out really nice -  I was spraying the cotton twill ribbon with the spray ink to color it.  The over spray got on a plastic bag.  I pressed the bag onto white cardstock and the effect was really dramatic.  So, I repeated until the sheet was covered.
  • Cut a piece of the background slightly larger than the stamped image on the velum
  • Glue velum to background paper
  • Wrap ribbon around this piece
  • Glue to pink CS

  • Stamp the Road Trip sentiment on pink CS with black ink
  • Add to card with dimensional adhesive
  • Tie ribbon around twill ribbon and glue to card

So cool!!  What girlfriend would not love to receive this card in the mail??!!  I think it just really conjures up  fun memories. Now, it is time to head off into the sunset and check out the next step on the blog hop ---
