Regal Stamping with Metallic Stains

Hi Dreamers!
As promised, I am posting two cards that I made that are accented with Metallic Distress stains.  The stains are are more on the matte side, but add a lustrous hue.  On today's cards, I used the Metallic stains to add a shimmery border.

Materials List:
Stamps
Large Damask from Feeling Regal-Blockheads Stamps
Inks
Tuxedo black dye ink - Memento
Cornflower and Walnut Antiquing Solution
Orange, Peach spray inks
Brushed Pewter and Antiqued Bronze Metallic Distress Stain - Ranger
Craft sheet- Ranger
Cardstock: White, black, blue and taupe
Pearls

Instructions for card #1:

  • The background is made by spraying inks (Cornflower and Walnut) onto a craft sheet and pressing white CS into the ink.
  • Dry with  a heat tool.
  • Stamp with Tuxedo Black dye ink
  • Add the Metallic Stain to the edges (Brushed Pewter)
  • Layer the card onto a blue card base
  • Add pearls

You can see the shimmer of the stain on this view below.  Just a nice soft sheen and a great touch on vintage and shabby chic cards.

Card # 2 is made in the same way.  The Spray inks used in this card are the Orange, Peach, and Walnut Antiquing.   I used Antiqued Bronze on this card for a rusty look.

Notice the soft rusty sheen created by the Bronze stain in this view of the card.

  3. Karen, your card is beautiful. I love the background and the "old world" feeling of the stamped image. The pearl bling to the left is also a nice touch. Very lovely card. Thanks for sharing your work with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
